Local AT&T adds cell sites on Big Island, Kauai

HONOLULU (AP) - In an ongoing effort to boost AT&T wireless service in Hawaii, a new cell tower is being added on Kauai.

 AT&T announced Tuesday that in addition to two new mobile broadband sites on the Big Island, another has been activated in Kauai’s Barking Sands-Polihale area.

Last year’s tsunami warning clogged the local network, leaving some emergency management officials on Maui and the Big Island without cell service.
