Hawaii hotels see record $308M in revenue for August

Hawaii hotels generated $308 million during the month of August, a new record, while occupancy increased by 4 percentage points to a statewide average of 81.3 percent and the statewide average daily room rate rose 10.2 percent to $214.55, compared to August 2011, according to a monthly report released Monday by Hospitality Advisors LLC and Smith Travel Research.

The August revenue of $307.9 million helped contribute to a new summer season record of $1.3 billion, the report said.
