American Airlines cancels more than 1% of flights in dispute with pilots
American Airlines canceled 300 flights, or more than 1 percent of its schedule between Tuesday and Sunday, including 18 flights on Sunday alone, blaming a dispute with the Allied Pilots Association for the cancellations and delays.
The Wall Street Journal reports the union, which represents American’s 10,000 pilots, denied that it approved a sickout or work slowdown, and a spokesman said the APA made automated calls to its members telling them to report to work. American’s owners, AMR Corp., has been in bankruptcy since November.
