Plans delayed for $250 million technology center in Kakaako

Kamehameha Schools is putting plans on hold for its 400,000-square-foot Kakaako technology center near the John A. Burns School of Medicine that would help support the biosciences industry.

The quarter-of-a-billion-dollar project was part of the $9 billion trust’s Kakaako multimillion-dollar redevelopment plan that was retooled in 2008. But a lack of demand for something to support the life sciences industry has caused Kamehameha to rethink its potential investment. No date for construction of the project has been set.
